It
was "love at first spit" in the mouthpiece at age nine in fourth grade.
I have been playing the trumpet ever since. My hero is the late Al
Hirt. Through many school related musical groups and currently three community
bands, I have had the opportunity to play with the Stamford Symphony in
high school, tour Europe at that time with the Rippowam band, and make
many friends through musical connections. I thank bands such as the
Stratford Community Band for the opportunity of keeping the trumpet active
in my life.
I
owe any success I may have to my friend and teacher, the late Ralph DeCamillo.
I have two talented and beautiful daughters who are also musically inclined.
I would advise anyone with an interest in music to join a band for it is
a springboard to opportunities. |
