Ryan Scirica


When Ryan entered Kindergarten, his family moved from East Hampton to Huntington, CT. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 10 in the fifth grade at Mohegan School where he played in the elementary school band as well as the intermediate school band. Ryan has been taking private saxophone lessons for the past four years and at the moment is in the process of learning to improvise. Through encouragement from his saxophone teacher and inspiration from his sister Ryan joined the Stratford Community Concert Band and has been a member for the past two years. His sister helps him with his music during the summer when she's home from college. Sometimes they play duets just for fun. At the present, Ryan is a Shelton High School Freshman in the College Prep program. His favorite subject is history. He plans to go on to college and major in mechanical engineering. Ryan's hobbies are playing video games, football, and going to the movies.
