Steve Yermes

Steve, a resident of Stratford for eleven years, lives with his wife Susan and their two children, ages thirteen and eleven. He grew up in New Jersey and started playing the trumpet at age ten and played through high school.

Steve graduated from Fairlawn High School in Fairlawn New Jersey in 1979 and went on to graduate from Montclair State College in New Jersey in 1983. He is currently employed in Milford as a senior Probation Officer for the State of Connecticut Judicial Department where he has been employed since 1987.

Steve started to play again after having put down the trumpet in 1980. Since attending one of the Stratford Community Band summer concerts, he returned to the trumpet and joined the group in 1996.

He says that, "the decision to start playing again and become a member of the band has been a most satisfying one. I really like the fact that musicians of all abilities can feel at home here."
