Emil
Secskas from Bridgeport, Connecticut is a veteran of World War II
in the Army Air Corps Cadet program. He is a veteran of the Korean
War and served as an Artillery Instructor in the 1st Army area. Emil
performed two tours of duty at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY.
and completed 30 years of active and reserve duty, in addition to being
a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
He retired as legal officer of the 399th Civil Affairs Group with the rank
of LTC.
Emil
graduated both from Fordham University with a B.S. in Psychology and Boston
University with an L.L.B. He was employed by the Federal Government
Office of District Council, Department of Veteran's Affairs in Hartford,
Connecticut.
Emil
is treasurer of the Greater Bridgeport Men's Garden Club and received the
"Gardener of the Year Award" in 1999.
He
played trumpet in high school and college bands and after a lapse of many
years is again playing his horn with the Stratford Community Band.
